Cold facts on the table: Sheldon has Asperger syndrom! At least I prefer to believe that.... I have Asperger myself, and see a lot of traits of Asperger in the character of Sheldon. Let me point out that Sheldon is much smarter than I am!! :P

Yeah, I've also been diagnosed with Aspergers and I didn't laugh at Sheldon initially. Now I think he's one of the funniest characters on television.

Of course Sheldon has Aspergers, it's not up for questioning, but I think the producers have chosen not to label him because it's still quite a touchy subject if you know what I mean. So many people doesn't know what Aspergers syndrom mean so it would only confuse people. Some still seems to think it's some kind of axmurderer.

I just lost a job because of it. Wish I was even more smarter than I am, I'm still replacable. Dammit.

I felt like Sheldon was a very exaggerated form of people with Aspergers. Of course, this reason I say this is because many people with it learn how to hide the symptoms and how to act in standard social situations. Sheldon never had the opportunity to learn these.
