  • Who could have guessed that the final out of the 1969 World Series would go onto manage the other team to their 1986 World Series title?

  • What a scene, what a time, what a team, what a memory. Probably the greatest event in the history of sports.

  • @TCC309 yes it was

  • Im wearing Mets Fitteds all this year to their 50th anniversary and because of the 1969 team im proud to be a Mets fan

  • @Luigi84289 - Nolan Ryan pitched in the 1969 WS with the Mets, and recorded the last out of the 1969 NLCS for the Mets against the Atlanta Braves, but he was never on the mound pitching the last out of any World Series. Jerry Koosman recorded the last out here in the 1969 WS.

  • Mets, Jets, Knicks - it was a magical AMAZING time period in NY

  • Great win for the New York Mets....not in the top 20 of all time greatest wins of a world championship.

  • I will never forget that day.

I am a Yankees fan, but I was for the Mets in the series.

    George Vreeland Hill
