8K 017 has almost reached the capital with this long mixed freight train. in less than half an hour it will enter Sanjiadian, the first suburb of Beijing. (11th of September, Luopoling, Beijing, China)
@neilybobmojo Thanks! :-) It's an older video already, you can find much more in my channel! :-) And everything I filmed from 2008 onwards is in HD... :-)
(*) The eight traction motors work as generators, holding the train at speed downhill, and (In case of the 8K!) the generated electricity is being sent back to the catenary, making it possible for an other electric train to use this energy for traction purposes again! (It is said that 1 train can climb uphill "for free" when two other trains are in dynamic baking!) (In case of the Feng-Sha-Line this might be even more so, since downhill trains are generally much heavier than uphill trains!)
A fantastic system, that no other means of transport, other than electric rail transport, can achieve! :-D
(Most other engines with dynamic brakes redirect the generated electric energy to big resistances (With forced cooling!) on the roof though, where it is evaporated (="lost") as heat...)
Very nice to be able to see railfanning in other countries. Well done video!

Great,qj7205! I love the video, because a very heavy freight train, 52 wagons emerges from the Hill Tunnel and cross the bridge!

Thanks... :-)
Personally I also like the deep sound of the dynamic brakes (*) of the 8K very much... :-)
