Watch how a modified Subaru Impreza STi with 340PS and 440NM (330 lbft)hammers through the Nuerburgring Nordschleife and conquers all, without being passed. Track was a bit slippery, and it was a bit foggy. But it shows that the Japanese make cars that really perform. This is a car being driven by the man on the street, not an expert, and is a road legal car.

  • Hi Nightspirit, agree exactly with your quote. I now have a Nissan GTR which is as easy as a Subaru to handle, no surprises, although being mor erear wheel drive it is twitchy. I also have an R500 and it really is a handful. So I can better the Subaru lap in both car but I am no where near confident enough to try to get to my Nissan time of 7;40 in the R500. I am around 7:55. The car can do it, but I do not like hospital food....

  • Bro that is insane, some awesome driving and very nice sti

  • @Dazecentral - Thanks. It is an open tourist day so lots of drivers not checking their mirrors. Notice the black 911 993 at the bottom of the hill who clearly did not see me...he took the apex....glad I held back as that is 125 mph there.

  • as much as i would love to be in this car i would also love to be in one of those cars you passed on the straights!

  • @Bigdadyfast - me too! A lovely selection of fine trackware.

  • Put me in a 340bhp TVR and I WILL absolutely destroy that Subaru. They're good, but a modded TVR will leave it eating shit (and remember your Scooby is modded so using a modded TVR is fair).

  • @Nickthebassist01 - I would hope so! The TVR is far lighter so it should be quicker than a scooby!

Although you will of course see in video I do sail past a TVR :).

However, not that many cars that can monster the 'ring in 8:20, except supercars - the key point about the Scooby is that it is really an extremely well balanced car, easy to drive.

I was at the 'ring today in my R500 - it ought to whack the scoob, yet I find it hard getting under 8 minutes - there is also some skill needed.....

  • I take it Nickthebassist is a TVR owner? why would a 340hp TVR need to be modded? the modern breed have over that stock. I own a Tamora with 350hp, the chassis/coilovers etc are perfect for track abuse but as Jack says, I doubt (yet to try) I'd have the confidence in the FR setup to produce a better time than I would in my 4WD Golf R32. The Tam has the power but is twitchy as hell.

  • @stewgenelec Prick

  • Always good to visit the ring..Funny to see some nice crashes and watch mangled ppl get cut out and shit...hahahaha
