Narcoleptic Dogs

Various narcoleptic episodes in dogs. Sporadic cases of narcolepsy in dogs is due to hypocretin peptide deficiency while the familial form is due to mutations in one of the two hypocretin receptor genes (hcrtr2). This is most definitely NOT fake. What you think you know about narcolepsy is wrong.  These dogs are not sleeping, the are experiencing CATAPLEXY--the diagnostic sign of narcolepsy. Look it up.

I have mild cataplexy, thank God. I feel sorry for those who are severe. Last night I cracked up so much, my legs and arms gave up on me. Then so I wouldn't touch the floor, my husband held on to my arms and it hurt so bad. I was telling him to let go, but he said he wouldn't let me lie on the floor because it was dirty, I guess. It's so annoying...
