SS WB will receive handoff from other wingback run off tackle. The short side of the line will suck in the defense while they attack the wingback who received the 1st handoff. We scored untouched on a bad day 30 plus yards
I coached flag with 8 man forms our favorite play was the a reverse out of unbalanced formation. 5 linemanline 2 wb's. motion the wing back on the short sideside (since the line is unbalanced coaches will tell players watch the strongside) take a handoff from the qb. full back execute KO block to strongside.
The 11-12 year old league I coach in just dropped from 11-man to 8-man. I've never coached 8-man so we've tried quite a few formations with varied effectiveness. We seem to have the most success with the double-wing; eliminating the fulback and two tackles. We don't have the greatest backs but they're agressive and we have a quarterback willing to lead block. We're 4-1 so far and didn't run the wing in the game we lost. Counters have worked great. Still learning though. Any tips would be great.
I see how using a second wing provides for great attack angles. I may try some of that next year for the 10s. I think for the younger guys 9U, the single wing provides an easier system (direct snap and unbalanced line for power against often unshifting fronts.).
Very nice coach. I have the 6, 7 and 8 year olds. I would like to run this with them. Do you have a diagram of the power and the counter play? Would you be kind enough to send me a copy? I would also like to show our coaches this video at practice this week, but don't know how to download this video onto my computer, only the link, but we don't have internet access on the field. Can you send me a copy of the 2 dvd? via e-mail? I would love it if you could. Thanks a lot!!

00:19 - What the hell was the safety doing there? He was just standing around and when the ball carrier almost passed him he started running.
