Notre - Dame de Paris, 1992 right after the restoration ended one of the world's best organ. I personally prefer the sound of Cochereau's era from 1971 to 1990. Sometimes the the chamade reeds on third manual sounds like Cochereau's. Anyway I thing Lefebvre is extremely genius and represents the next generation. --- Add &fmt=18 --- to the URL to get a bit better sound quality. I managed to some extent to clarify this if you are interested please download the trackfrom here: https://cid-ce6e2579f6cb867b.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Misc/Philippe%20Lefe...

  • This is from a VHS casette that was released right after the 92 restauration. As for Mr. Lefebvre, he is my ultimate favorite now but I also like Mr.Latry and Leguay as well. Moreover I cannot really listen to any organ than Notre-Dame any more.

  • This guy is scary as hell!! What a twisted soul. Improvisations are all "horror movie" worthy!

  • LOUD LOUDER LOUDEST!!! Whats up with that?!?!?! BIZZARRE!!!!

  • ". . . having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof." Confusion. Clutter. The plain and simple things of the Gospel of Christ having been removed even from the music of the great Cathedrals. This has the sound of the race towards the Apocalypse and the end of all things good and holy. I have NOTHING against Mr. Lefebvre at all. I am only responding to what my ears are telling my brain. The Holy Spirit will not abide in the presence of so much cataclysmic confusion and ugliness.

  • wow! a mad man at the organ! i love it.....as he played on,,,,,he was turning ME on, ....great playing!

  • Ja, die Franzosen können einfach improvisieren! Man denke nur an den Großmeister Pierre Cochereau an der Notre-Dame -Orgel.......

  • @Bachlives2 I couldn't agree with you more!!! What puzzles me is how Mr. Lefebvre keeps the notes coming so quickly one after the other! It almost all sounds blended together! Is it b/c of the reverb of the church??

  • @Bachlives2 The organ crashed?! What year was this??

  • @chamade216 But when the organ crashed didn't they have to totally restore the computers?
