lol she's pregnant!!!! XD

A/C in a GTO was rare in 1965, damn near a myth to find it in a convertible. The wire wheelcovers are very hard to find too.
-
At 0:58 it looks like the left reverse light is out.. and has a LeMans trunk emblem??
-
OMG I cringed every time that GTO ran over a curb!!!!!

My initial reply was accidentally deleted, so I'll recap for those of you who wondered why 'Pmd' agreed with me: Dale Van Sickel was the "phantom driver"; he manipulated the Pontiac by using a small second wheel while crouched under the dashboard. How did he see where he was going? By using a tiny periscope that was concealed through the prop "tissue box" on top of the dashbaord.
-
And I wondered why the hell that tissue box was there, and also why it did not slide off the dash with the extreme donuts. Now I know!
Two things that looked kinda odd. At 2:30 you see Tony removing the keys from the ignition. Was it on the left of the steering wheel or to the right. My memory of most cars in the mid 1960's having the ignition switch on the dash to the right of the steering wheel. Only Fords had it to the left of the wheel
And look toward the end of the video and notice the hills in the background. Proving this was filmed on a lot in California of course because there are no hills like that in Cocoa Beach.

Great catch & you're one for details. I too noticed the hills when burning this to DVD 2 years ago. What's amazing is prior to that I'd never noticed it in all my years of watching this show over 40 years from age 4. I'm thinking maybe the later episodes eliminated this mistake.
In 1966 the instrument panel was redesigned & more integrated than in previous years (& this 65) with the ignition switch moved from the far left (like this) of the dash to the right of the steering wheel.

My pleasure, 'Pmd'. Incidentally, you probably knew that Barbara was about six months pregnant when she filmed this episode (hence the addition of more veiling around her costume, and emphasis on "above-the-waist" close-ups).

Actually I knew she was pregnant but not until only a few years ago, as a young kid I had no idea....because they did a great job of hiding it, plus maybe being the early B&W episodes may have helped them hide it better, too.
