Carnegie Mellon University's Hunt Library unveiled a new exterior LED lighting facade in November 2010 to mark the library's 50th anniversary and accentuate the beauty and elegance of its aluminum and glass structure.
The project was funded by a grant from the Roy A. Hunt Foundation and designed by Cindy Limauro and Christopher Popowich of C&C Lighting, LLC. Limauro, a professor of lighting design at CMU, and Popowich are also known for their design of the lighting feature on CMU's Pausch Bridge. The color-changing capability of the lights showcases the energy of campus activity throughout the night and allows different looks to be created for holidays or special campus events, such as Commencement, Homecoming and Carnival.
Since opening in 1961, Hunt Library has continued to evolve, remaining a centerpiece of learning and student interaction at CMU today.

It is very neat, how color seems to move just as fluidly as a lyric does in rythym. This is a beautiful example of that.
