A new spoken-word piece about a bad experience with an adjunct professor who made a seriously homophobic comment during our first class. Note to the masses: Never anger a poet -- because a year-and-a-half after the fact, you still risk having a poem written, telling you off.

(Note: The title is an allusion to a speech given by young gay activist Jake Reitan, outside the headquarters of Focus on the Family, during which he asked anti-gay wacko James Dobson to "focus on MY family" for a day.)

  • Wonderful, I thoroughly enjoy your poetry :)

    You are very well spoken

  • @violetdoll11 Thank you so much!

  • i don't get why people are getting mad at dr. dobson! all he is doing is saying what the bible says. if you are angry about what he is saying then you should be angry at god i guess

  • @KDubRollerblader There's a documentary called "For the Bible Tells Me So" that I would really recommend to you. It includes interviews with theologians on the passages from the Bible -- (e.g. Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1, etc) -- that are often used to condemn homosexuality, and can help explain some of the dissent -- among religious Christians -- with James Dobson's views.

  • This is absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • thanks for listening! :)

  • @missmarymax ooo! i would i would! and spread it around like wildfire! please please if you have the opportunity we'd LOVE an album of your work! written or spoken or dvd. the world needs more intelligent women speaking out and intense, moving poetry!

  • @KDubRollerblader Dobson is not a minister and he strays FAR from the Bible. He goes out of his way to prevent civil rights being achieved for gays and is outright hateful. I am Christian and I find his actions shameful.

  • Be proud of yourself for making your voice heard

    You are a wonderful speaker.

  • all you need is love.

  • What a vocabulary ...what a sense...Im speechless - Farhad S. A,. Kelley Mandl's friend
