More like MY complaint...I've heard of people complaining about ice on their windshields and such, but never on the ground...strange :/ And OMG...the audio is terrible!! Maybe I should re-upload??

Unrelated to that link, snow can turn into ice before it melts completely away. The more hardpacked the snow is (more walked on), the faster it becomes ice on a mild day.

Ice is perhaps also a reason why you often see people in Norway looking down at the ground instead of around/straight ahead, which some other cultures/countries sometimes might think of as unfriendly.

  • @Laniala Got the link, tusen takk!! Thank you for the info...I actually had no idea people made that relation, but I totally get it. Wicked ice :/

  • it's a shame that the norwegian christmas remained almost without snow this year! Hopefully, nexe year will be like 2009 and 2010, which had a lot of snow and cold tempratures.

  • @ShittyGarfunk I know. I was thankful just for the fact that the ground still looked white; then it snowed again On new year's day :) Had one snow fall for an entire day after that, and nothing ever since. According to the forecast now, it's about to change...there's snow for the rest of the week...supposedly.

  • I'm norwegian, and i'm more annoyed by ice than snow, as long as the snow is less than 30-50cm (roughly 1-2 feet).

A tip for practicing to drive on slippery roads is to put something like a paper-cup or a waterbottle on the top of your dashboard. This is because it will move or fall if you drive too "hard" (the amount of G-forces). On a regular snowy / icy road, you have roughly the same traction as the bottle has on the dashboard, so if it falls over, you would be drifting or in a ditch :P

  • @gulllars Thanks for the tips!! You're right about the drifting and the ditches...I've already seen that a lot here :/ You are seriously one of the few people I've heard complain about it. Now I hear complaints because a lot of people have ended up with broken bones and concussions. I find it extremely odd.

  • @Zemfira25 But on the other hand... be careful what you wish for.. With temperatures reaching down to - 30 degrees C or more it can be really painfull, expecially for your face. One does not have to stay out for long before it feels like it is melting off.

  • @dpxmidisplaylol Ja ja ja! Ay Manny! Un dia de estos a mi tambien me va a dar un ataque al corazon de los sustos. Cuidate mucho!

  • @Hnzuu Oh my goodness...I just pictured that! I walk like an old lady too, and even so, I don't think I'm even close to safe. My friends and family kind of make fun of me, but I really don't care...I'm scared, shoot!!

  • @heyjkuhl So are we J, it really hasn't been that cold, but cold enough at nights to freeze the little bit of melted snow and rain. Me no likey.

  • @charli0hihi Me too!!
