Isn't it more likely about Annalisa? She seemed to be in his mind a lot during the making of the album, with So Long My Lover and all that. And he did say he wouldn't writte abt Pete, though I think what he actually said was that he wouldn't write snide, bitter songs abt him. Still, the ''I'm the rain'' connection is pretty strong, I didn't know abt that.

@alissewonder It could be, of course, but I think he wrote other songs for her in his album. Please note how this line 'There's a song that will bring me to your side' is similar to 'Take a broken love song, keep it by your side' of Broken Love Song in Peter's solo album. I don't think these are just coincidences.. He's written several songs abt Peter in my opinion and viceversa. Thanks for your comment.
