You made me say 'oooh' out loud, when you remarked you had no one to share the lovely meal with....I'm sure there are a lot of people out here who would have felt privalleged to have been able to!
I got a very similar reaction when offering up a seat to a middle aged woman on a bus, I'm only 22. I think she felt offended because I made her feel old. I've since stopped offering up my seat to anyone except elderly people. Am I doing the right thing? I've seen my dad offer his seat to women as I was growing up so that's where I got the example from.
As far as the girl in your incident is concerned, what a cow! I still hold doors open for everyone to be honest, it's just polite!
I think its strange that you didn't find that story interesting, because I sure did! Some people just can't take being polite anymore, or accepting it. It's sad.
I just want to say that I think it's so sweet that you hug people often and use such kind names. It makes me really wish I had such an affectionate older person in my family, it's really very sweet of you!
Thanks Peter, I recently said good morning to a well dressed man at in the corridor at work, only to be completely ignored, This kind of behaviour leads me to believe he thought I was perhaps inferior to him in some way, although I still pass the time of day with everybody I meet in the corridor, despite his rudeness.
Lol, you're such a sweet old man. I wish more older people made youtube videos. Don't even worry about what that girl said, she sounds psycho. Most normal people would be happy at that.
i second that comment, hehe :)

Aww, I think calling people kind names and hugging them often is not inappropriate at all! I actually think it's very nice. :)
The world needs more kindness!
And being politically correct is complicated and sometimes stressful, although I follow it all the time because I never want to offend anyone :o
