Awwwwww BREAKOUT! Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of BREAKOUT for the Atari 2600 VCS video game console. Use the Atari paddle controllers to bounce a mysterious alien ball into line after line of multi colored blocks. Sounds simple, but it isn't.

This awesome game from the 1970's is a true retro arcade, coin-op, old school classic video game that is worth remembering. The Breakout style is legendary and influenced many other video games. Are you into retro gaming? Then you need to be into Breakout for the Atari.

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. The HD series is reviewing PS3, Genesis, NES, Atari and Xbox 360. Xbox Live Arcade XBLA. Reviews.

  • awesome original game. some imitators don't seem to have the 'left-right' directional sides of the paddle.

  • I have Super Break Out and I liked how they bult a story around such a simple and fun concept.

There was a NASA Astronaut who was returning to his base from a routine resource transport mission, when on the way back he spots what seems like a never ending rainbow barrier. And with his life support systems failing he must break through the barrier as quick as possible so he could get back to his base. It was pretty cool. There was even a book and record based on this.

  • The first Breakout sucks because it ends after you clear the 2nd board. Super Breakout goes for as long as you can keep playing.

  • sadly, i dont have paddle controllers, id goot this game though

  • i love this games maybe even one of my favorites of all time

  • that game you said that starts with an A. I think it's ariknord or something well it's for the NES

  • An emulator will do it justice. All you have to do is get an adapter that will allow you to use Atari paddles or controllers. Not a bad video man. But I honestly never much cared for this game.

  • I'd love to see an Arkanoid review. It was indeed released on several consoles, including the NES, C64 and Amiga.
