Marti introduces the From Marti Michell Log Cabin Rulers. Blocks come out square and the correct size because cutting strips to the exact length is more accurate than other methods.

This video is the answer to the question, "Why would you need a special ruler for a Log Cabin quilt?"

1:44 Learn three things that will improve your Log Cabin blocks whether you use our rulers or not.

2:40 Marti explains lengthwise and crosswise grain and how to determine grainline even without a selvage.

6:45 What are the six Log Cabin strip widths available on the rulers? How are they paired to have only 3 rulers?

7:49 Intro to using both strip widths on one ruler to make Curved Log Cabin quilt blocks.

Thank you for watching.

The pattern for Rachel's Baskets, hanging in the background, is in her book Log Cabin ABCs. You can see the full quilt on our Web site at http://www.frommarti.com/show_LC_bskt.shtml The fabrics are from Marti's Wild Rose line by Maywood Studio.
