How To Make a Color Splash Effect - Photoshop Tutorial

In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to make a Color Splash effect in photoshop. For the demonstration I'll be using Adobe Photoshop CS3, but most photoshop programs should work.

why not just select the apple and place it on another layer? then apply the black and white effect? It should save you a lot more time and it should be more accurate.

@cyberlord64 That's what I thought, but not always. Assuming the easiest way to select the apple would be with the magnetic lasso, the borders of the colored part (not necessarily an apple) might not be distinct enough for the lasso to work effectively. Otherwise, in some cases, it might be an easier alternative

@HaggardVidz There has to be something wrong with the adjustment layer. Make sure the little adjustment layer icon shows up on the layer in the bottom right. Look at the video if you're not sure what I'm talking about

I have a life, you know, the star of my baseball team and #1 student in my class so I don't have time to make photography my profession. Photography for me is a hobby.
