Do you understand the difference between explaining your belief, and providing proof of your belief? Because you have done the first, and not the second.

You know, kiddo, you really should do some research before you say such silly things. The problem of YOUR comment is that it's absolutely wrong. The US Supreme Court has stated in 4 different cases, most notably the case of Loving vs. Virginia, 1967, that "marriage is one of the basic civil rights of man".
You'll have to find another way to justify your bigotry.

@ScienceReasonBelief The problem of your argument is that marriage has yet to be (or ever has been) a right.

Religious freedom: the right to believe in fairy tales, in mythology...
Dallin Oaks is hypocritical. At 1:10 he talkes about how some religious beliefs need to be qualified by the government's responsibility to protect it's citizens. He gives the example of people who might kill or steal based upon their religious beliefs.
And yet, the Mormon church has no problem stealing away the right of marriage from gay people, claiming this upon their religious beliefs.
Dallin is a fool.

"The Lord reveals His will through His chosen prophets, and we know that the prophets' teachings are true because they come from the Lord Himself," Elder Perry said.
Priesthood training focused on strengthening leaders and helping them recognize how the power they have can bless the lives of those they serve.

Marting Luther King could not have said it any BETTER!

Vickie Ahlstrom, Michele Brees, Zan Coonce, Natalie Robinson and Nola Wilkinson were among the the nearly 90 winners had to submit a video tape of a lesson, a lengthy report analyzing and reflecting on the lesson, a resume and three letters of recommendation to their respective state judges, who then chose the best to be considered by a national judge panel. The winners were nominated by peers or administrators.
Dallin claims that religious freedom was deliberately placed first in the Bill of Rights.
I'd like to know what proof he has of that.
Oh, that's right... this is a General Authority talk. It doesn't have to be grounded in reality!

@ScienceReasonBelief The Bill of Rights guarantee religious freedom from government as opposed to government freedom from religion. Yes, this was placed first purposefully. Many framers believed the Constitution would establish religion as a watchdog over government standing and speaking against immoral and corrupt legislation.
