Hey Mike:

I saw this video on Much Music when I was living in Halifax many moons ago.

I saw it only a couple of times, but I NEVER FORGOT IT...

As far as I'm concerned, "Steel-Belted Radio" can be considered the official anthem for the Alt-Country and Indie Label movement of the last twenty years.

For all those who grew up on the artist-oriented FM stations of the early '70s, I salute you.

I had an alt country show on the radio station where I worked on Vancouver Island for a couple years, and it was called Steel Belted Radio, after this song.

The U of Manitoba station (UMFM 101.5) has a singer-songwriter show on Thursdays (6:30 to 8:00) called Steel-Belted Radio, named after this song! Great show. Thanks for community radio!!
