Actually there are quite a few AM jocks and stations in those photos and as for no-name jocks, well, the world is full of no-name jocks, unknown except to those who grew up with them. These are the ones that I grew up with and I'm happy that they were no-name jocks here and not somewhere else!

Late 70s electronics looked so cool.  The cheesy monochrome screens and large keyboards were very novel. Now everything is too sleek looking.

Go to the 58 second mark. MAN! Does Philip's voice sound so so much like Ivan's voice of Men Without Hats! In fact Philip's voice gets to be mostly like Ivan's voice, that you have trouble distinguishing that it is Philip's voice only. WOW! I even looked at the booklet and there is no mention of Ivan anywhere. Philip is amazing on this song with that voice familiar-arity alone.

I think there is a bit of irony that a few years later Queen's Radio Ga Ga covered the same theme. This masterpiece ;) of the League's is amazing even after all these years

@djbladdered OMG that would be like Led Zep reforming again. But will Susan and Joanne come along?? I hope if it does happen it is not just a UK only tour like Yazoo and Ultravox

This song was so prophetic. Too many stations have become automated- so many, in fact, that when you hear a live DJ, it's almost a novelty. All that the broadcast companies care about is cutting costs, and the first thing they cut are the live DJs. It's cheaper to have a computer running the show than a live person. I should know- I used to be an FM jock myself. Here's to the radio DJ- an endangered species.
