Sorry, but this 'trainer' doesn't seem to have much experience. When you are out there, a sharp knife is one of the most important things. Therefore you never, I repeat NEVER, use the sharp edge of your blade on a fire steel. Using you knifes back works properly too and you blade stays sharp.
