Send this video and/or petition to your friends so the petition can get lots of signatures.

Here is what the video said:

"Hello. Many of you have heard of the famous Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky. It is an old historical hospital which treated TB patients in the early 1900's when there was an outbreak. It also happens to be considered to be one of the most famous places in America by some. In fact, Waverly Hills was the place that T.A.P.S. ghost hunters put on a live TV paranormal investigation in Halloween of 2007. Very interesting paranormal and historical tours are given at Waverly Hills. Lots of people come every year to go on these tours. However, due to the cost/maintnance of the hospital, the current plans are to turn it into a fancy hotel and casino, which will have a huge portion of the building replaced and redone. This is a bad idea because it lowers the authenticity of the building and eliminates the tours that are currently provided at Waverly Hills. Because of the horrible plan for the place, I've put together an online petition against it. Sign it by going to the link in the description (no registration is required to sign the petition). Once this recieves enough signatures, it may be enough to convince the owners at Waverly to come up with a better solution, such as a fund. Send the petition around to your friends and family so it can get lots of supporters. (Thank you x 6)"

  • Why a petition??? Even if you get 10,000 "signatures", it has NO legal force of law. Find something else to better occupy your time. Turning Waverly Hills into a hotel would help better ensure the preservation of the building and allow more people to see the building up close.

BTW: The current horrific lending climate is much more likely to postpone the conversion of Waverly Hills into a hotel than any petition.

  • The petition doesn't nor intends to have any "legal force", as it's simply to show how many people are for its cause.

  • It wouldnt matter if they turn it into a hotel the spirts probly will still be around. They said they were going to keep the 5th floor as it is.

But still it isnt right for them to turn it into a hotel no one will probly go their if their scared of paranormal activity.

  • well many people would go there in hopes to have experiences. from what i heard, it was the 4th floor that they would keep, but i dunno.

  • Yeah it was the 4th I made a typo.

  • now i heard it's both the 4th and 5th floor. that seems to make sence

  • Hmmm...they probably wanted to make another Stanley Hotel by the looks of it.

But you have to understand where they're coming from. It IS about the money. It takes MONEY to actually make repairs and keep the building from deteriorating. Eventually, after so many years, it will get demolished some way or another by machine, or by natural causes. Making it into a hotel, may actually be best for it. It won't be the same, but it's better than it being destroyed completely.

  • The city of Louisville told the owners that if they did not restore it then the city would demolish the building. The owners are going to turn it into a hotel (for ghost hunters and enthusiasts) not a casino. They also informed me that the 4th floor will remain "as is" so people can still "hunt." The owners do not have much choice in the matter... (thanks Louisville) I would rather them turn it into a hotel than to see it torn down. I have been several times and would love to spend the night.

  • I just spoke to the owners....There are no plans of it being transformed into a hotel.

  • This video is clearly made by a very misinformed and most likely UNinformed person because thr state of Kentucky legally cannot have any casinos on land (only on casino boats of the river) so it's never gonna be a casino and obviously theyre not going to leave it as is, without restoration it wont last another 50 years

  • did you have to use an annoying voice over ?

  • ha ha ha. i know personally the family that owns waverly hills. that place is their life and business. they will do whatever they want to with it because it is their life and business as previosly stated. your petition equals shit so dont waste your time. what a joke. much love for the mattingly family.

  • the money the owners take from the ghost hunts and tours it's all going to restore the building into a 4 star hotel. what's their sales pitch gonna be, " come stay with us in every room you'll know you're not alone, come and be one of our guests along with 63,000 spirits" it's like forget that

  • The HELL?!

Are mental hospitals in US lacking patients?

  • This is private property. Whether anyone likes it or not the owners can do what ever they want with the facility. It would be nice if they would leave some of it as it is or restore parts of it back to the way it looked when the hospital was new, however if they don't want to, no one can make them.

  • Really why would someone want to stay in a hotel and sleep there if it was once a place where so many people died!?

I hope Waverly will stay the way it is now. Not a stupid hotel.

  • the whle place is turning into a hotel exept for the 4th floor for studies.
