Remington at NAGA Texas

My first NAGA tournament and only my second tournament ever. Been taking BJJ for 5 months and I am considered a Novice by NAGA rules. They advanced me all the way to the Advanced category as I beat all the other divisions. In the Advanced Division I was asked to fight a kid named Donald Christman,III who I was told has won the last 20 NAGA tournaments he competed in and is ranked #1 in the nation. I took the challenge and beat him twice, so now NAGA says I can not fight any other division besides Advanced even though I am considered a Novice according to their rules. I won 3 samauri swords that day.

I think you were wise to opt not to take part in the gi section at NAGA Texas. You had already proved you were the best fighter in your age/weight group. Which do you prefer, fighting gi or no-gi? I always think no-gi is best, it seems so much more natural - and it must get ever so hot in those heavy gi suits!

@mmantech gogoplata isnt a 10th panet move m8 just a traditional bjj submission but 10th planet did adopt it quit a bit

@DevastatingFighter yeah exactly you have alot more dangerous guard when u are competing in gi. u have a very good guard for your age and a very nice armbar from guard u rotate your hips nice into perfect technique congrats on all your success stay with it and u might be a world champ one day

I average between 83 and 85 lbs. I'm just under 5 foot. My parents have tried and tried to get me to gain weight but I just can't. Good luck with whichever tournament you choose to compete in.

Your very good, how much do you weigh? I might be competing in the NAGA US OPEN in Orlando Florida in the expert division, but right now i still havent decided wether to compete in the NAGA tournament or the Karate US Open because they are in the same place in the same time,i weigh 79 lbs and im 4,6, keep up the great work
