How I Research Artwork That I Find

It can be a bit of a challenge to find out if a piece of art you've found at a yard sale is valuable or not. I'm far from an expert on the matter, but here is what has worked for me. The key is to find out who the artist is. Many pieces are not even signed and most of the ones that are have a scribble for the signature.

I took your advice and bought some artworks, reasonably priced. Do you know if prints are worth anything or what the rules are with them? Got some prints of a 16th century painter from the 1960's. Thanks Will.

@terminal99 ...some of it is free,research stuff and the like,.. if just open an acct./register with them. they do have per day rates that are reasonable if you need to dig deeper..
