I've decided to occasionally put up videos about Apple IIgs games, since the IIgs platform seems to be such an underdog and a lot of people have played these games but never seen the (usually graphically and aurally superior) IIgs versions. This time around, let's play doctor in the preeminent microcomputer medical simulation.

  • How do you find KEGS? I'm using the Linux version but finding a lot of the games don't function very well and the system state becomes unstable very easily. I'd love to find a stable emulator but it's not high priority for anyone unfortantely.

  • @22ness0hayden It works very well in Windows. Not the most stable emulator I've ever used, but quite adequate; it rarely crashes or acts up on me. Then again, it probably depends on what programs you're running.

  • @LateBit do you know were I can buy a apple 2. Computer I trid ebay but no 1 will ship to the uk

  • @Ryanr75rc I'm afraid I really don't; I don't think you'll find a better general resource than eBay, but there should be people around Europe who still have them sitting around if you can find them.

  • I like your girl voice. :-)

  • The phone numbers to call back people come with the game. There's a very good guide to this game online written by Josh Mandel.

  • copy protection? how?

  • they should offer taht game at Lamson College whare I worked at.

  • @eternalcheesecake Thanks, I'll check it out. Do love the GS, was a great machine. Mine is sitting under a bed since the Vulcan bit the dust. I threw the original power supply years ago thinking I would never need it. I can't even start it up now :-(

  • @22ness0hayden Try ActiveGS, which will run under Wine on Linux. Works well for me and is actively maintained, even now.

  • beautiful graphics

  • The PC scream is REALLY good!

  • Thanks for explaining every single stupid obvious thing, real good use of your time + mine. This is a comment.

  • That's odd, not much of a game, and what is the deal with "copy protection" The IIGS era was 86 to 1990 when it was jettisoned for the MacIntosh

  • i played this back when i ran PC-DOS (screw you, microsoft) as my primary OS back in 1992 or so. loved it, mainly because of surgery without anesthetic. it worked differently on PC though; while your patient screamed as soon as you touched him, i could fill the entire field with black scalpel marks & nothing would happen until i released the mouse button. the chief of surgery was just as mad in your video, but i always liked to wonder why he didn't send me to the psych ward for my crimes.

  • @22ness0hayden:

By the way, I added fullscreen support to it if you would like it.
