  • I've played/written in bands for years now but that song, especially the Bass solo gives me a prolonged pins n needles from my scalp to my toes.A Fantastic piece of music from a great band and 'The Raven' - timeless.I'm off to listen to it again !! :)

  • JJ best bass player ever...God bless The Stranglers...

  • old days best days.. the stranglers

  • I remember a choreographed kick step routine that JJ and Hugh did during the bridge to JJ's solo on this song.

  • @brimane That would have been in October 1980. I had tix to the concert the night after their equipment was stolen in NY, and the show was postponed. Five weeks later the Stranglers finally made it to DC, and they asked two local bands to open for them: Black Market Baby and The Bad Brains. Also, Hugh asked the theater to show "Eraserhead" after the Stranglers set. It was an awesome night.

  • @brimane The one encore that night was 'The Raven'. How could one ever forget,

"And when you find me all alone...UNITED STATES HAS NEVER BEEN MY HOME!"

  • I got to see them in Houston while they were on tour supporting 'The Raven'. Their van with all their gear had been stolen in NYC and they were trying to put on a show with rented equipment. So many sound problems that they busted up their kit and stormed off in the third number. After about an hour the club manager forced them back on stage and they turned their frustration and anger into the best concert I will ever experience.

  • badass
