Lysine from the health food store will fix this problem. Take large doses at the onset, heard about this in the 80's on The 700 Club and filed it in my data base (brain/memory) I met someone who had this problem and told them about it and it did the trick for them. Rarely if I get a ulcer in my mouth which is common but have been told this is herpes 1; I took Lysine and it went away, quickly.
