its just a more modern version of a Keyharp, a swedish instrument thats been around for more years then we can remeber i think, its an very old instrument and nothing strange about it :)

Yeah, it sounds like a bagpipe because of the drones. It has a wooden wheel on the inside that scrapes a set of strings. Buttons along the body control a melody, while other strings just ring out.

It's called a Hurdy Gurdy, and it's basically a mechanised violin. It's a very cool instrument, and yes, it does sound like a bagpipe.
