1977's Elegant Gypsy is my favorite album by the amazing jazz fusion guitarist Al Di Meola and Midnight Tango is probably my favorite song off the album. I've been messing around with the song for a while and decided to film a little cover of it.
The guitar is my Ibanez J. Custom seven-string, the RG8527Z, with DiMarzio PAF7 pickups. The actual song has parts with clean guitar, acoustic guitar, distorted guitar, and Al switches between pickups several times, but I thought I'd keep it simple this time and only play using the neck pickup and only use a clean tone through the entire video. The guitar is going into my Axe-FX Ultra with the Fender Twin Reverb amp model (DOUBLE VERB) and the 2X12 CUST cabinet. There is compressor, reverb, delay, chorus, and graphic EQ on the preset as well.
Dude, cool post. I dig your playing. Nice to see a fellow Dimeola fan who can play. You sound really good. Keep it up bro. Hope you post more. I will definately check 'em out.

Thanks. I've been thinking of filming a cover of Egyptian Danza or Flight Over Rio, but I haven't really had the time.
