The basic movements (Kibon Dong-Jark) demonstrated in this video are essential to complete your Belt Form and One-Step Sparring. Before you begin to practice your Poomsae (form) and Hanbun-Kyoroogi (One-Step Sparring), students must learn how to execute properly each demonstrated movements. Needless to say these movements are going to be a stone foundation of your Tae Kwon Do career.

  • Excellent! It is great to get good technical detail on the mechanics. With good form comes good power. That way your block can become an attack in itself.

One thing that should be mentioned is that the blocking arm should be slightly bent instead of fully extended straight. That way your elbow will not get hyper extended and injured when blocking a powerful kick.
