Hob Nob Follow The Leda's Teeter Training
Leda and I went out in my backyard. We worked on our own teeter again for the first time since Wednesday - the day we started this teeter training, just four days ago. I think there will only be 1 or 2 more videos more for me to make about Leda's teeter training. Once she is running a solo teeter I'll end this 'series' ( for lack of a better word!). =) I won't be filming all of my teeter proofing with lateral distance, rears crosses, front crosses, blind crosses, etc. That would be TOO much video work, even for me! ;-)
My goal was and is simply to "document" all of our sessions & the steps I took for my own learning and, also, for anyone else who is watching and thinking of trying the box method themselves. I make mistakes which others can benefit from seeing (such as my poor tugging in the first few vids).
I just never dreamed I'd go from two large boxes to almost none in four days! Leda is a very clever doggie! Collectively we've put less than 1/2 hour into our teeter training, I'm very pleased with our progress!
If it's not raining tomorrow Leda and I will do another short session.
Thank you so much for watching us play!!!

hi!can not be a problem to the tug in advance, before the seesaw, touch the ground?
is not it better to wait a while?

@alexehilary
I wanted Leda to DRIVE to the end of the teeter & to boldly tug all the way down, riding the board. To this day I still do a similar game to maintain her drive to the end of the board. I am VERY happy with how Leda's teeter turned out. These videos were made over a year ago and Leda has an excellent teeter performance. I will train my future dogs the same (or a very similar) way. : )

@AgilityMalamute 2on2off is a fast, right?I said if you give it a tug in advance when the seesaw still has to go down, you risk only to unbalance the dog

@alexehilary Leda learned to have excellent balance on the teeter this way. If you watch CONTACTS 360 with Amanda Shyne (available on agilityvision & on clean run, I think) this training is explained. I was at the seminar and that is where I learned the tugging while on the teeter for max speed. :)
