Yes, but what struck me is, altough my rational part of the brain recognises a threat as fake (or so I think so), the chemical "fear" coctail is still having a party. But it could be my brain, trough past experinces, recognised this particular info as a night bear suit threat.

Remember, a 'fake' threat is only a fake if you're brain immediately recognizes it as not real. If I charged you at night wearing a realistic bear costume, you would scream and run as fast as you could, that's primal fear response. If I charged at you in daylight wearing a unrealistic bear suit, you would laugh, and 'act' scared. That's the modern human brain overriding the fear impulse. Always obey your instinctive fear, it will save you !
I can relate. :) Hope you're alright now.

i think if rationalising doesn't work, it can help to find a physical outlet for the primal response, as that's what it gears your body up to do, i.e. sports or something, to stop you acting in life based on this physical response, which can cloud judgement. i'm a lazy-assed geek, so i just do some boxing on the Wii or play guitar rly hard, teehee

I agree. Am pretty lazy for areobic exercise too, so I ususally go for a long work, that works for me. Used to play guitar and like to sing, but boxing sounds good too...in the heat of the moment you can kick your mouse's ass, ha,ha.
