If you'd like scientific evidence, try this:
When you are afraid, your body releases hormones in response to the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, right? These hormones cause you muscles to tighten/harden, right? All scientific. When you relax and meditate, you produce hormones that cause muscles to lengthen & soften. You have no fear when meditating. Therefore, the result is that a baby can "slide" out against soft muscles, not hard, resistant fibres which bring on more pain.

Looking at your profile, it becomes clearer.. you're 22 y.o and have all the answers. Try to chill on the anger, you're only hurting yourself..( Love, the hippie)

This vid inspired me to have my own hypnobirth and I did it! My beautiful son was born without so much as a panadol and It was all due to the hypno-birthing experience. Thanks for sharing and inspiring so many others. XO

Firstly congratulations on a beatiful baby and birth! I am a student midwife in England (approaching the end of my training - yay!) and find it so refreshing to see you embrace the natural approach and be so confident in your body's abilities. Though I have delivered babies in waterbirths, I would love to deliver many during a hypnobirth- they look wonderful! Many congratulations :) :)

I'm 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby & just looking around at birth options. I would like to have a home birth & am keen on the idea of hypnobirthing.
Seen so many videos of women screaming & it really terrifies me.
I know everyone's body is different & some women have higher pain thresholds but thank you for posting this video; it's made me feel more confident that I'm making the right choice for me. x

Hello. A lovely Video!! I myself am pregnant with my first Baby to be born. I am in Uruguay.
But actually I have a question which is very important for me to know if you would share: 1) In the final phase, did you press or did you continue to relax and your Baby made his own way in his own time? 2) Did you move around/ were standing or in your knees in phase one and two of the labour? Or did you lay on your bed/back? Please do answer me, it is so important to me. Thank you.

@karinglaubtanjesus Thank you, and congratulations. In the earlier part of labor I layed on my side in bed. In the tub I was able to sit, but as I got closer to the final stage of labor I moved onto my knees. I never stood. About the pushing, I was never coached on it, but I did push a little. The best way to discribe it is like having a bowel movement - you don't force it out but there is some natural, spontaneous pushing involved. Hope this helps and good luck.

I know this is an ignorant question, but I haven't had a child before. I was wondering if you felt any pain at all? Please send me a message, I'm dying to hear from you, I am terrified of childbirth. And in every water birth I've seen the women seemed fine.

It wasn't perfectly painless, but it was totally bearable. After three births, I would be more afraid of an epidural and pitocin in the hospital than a home birth (in a low risk pregnancy). If you can take a hypnobirthing class, it might do you some good. Part of the class involves facing any fears of birth you may have. There is a fear-pain connection. I think hypnobirthing worked so well for me because I was able to relax and feel in control.

Thank you. I am very lucky to have the family I do. The birthing tub is by Made in Water and is called La Bassine.
