Saw them perform in Charlottesville, VA in 2003. I sat at the bar before the show, and Blake was just chillin' with a beer next to me. Seemingly subdued, he said "How's it goin?" with more social intent than the average passerby in NYC would. I guess, if my brain poured out the lyrical beauty he does, I suppose I would be a bit subdued too! One of the best writers the world will ever know. I'll take to my grave, sitting beside that guy, as one of the more privileged moments of my life.

one of the best albums of all time, hands down. this is what happend in the 90's. genuine talent = genuine music. you can thank the people who were a part of this movement for the creation of indie labels and a revival of sincere, organic artistic expression.
