The Center for Coastal Resources Management (CCRM) at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS) operates a web cam in their Teaching Marsh on the VIMS campus in Gloucester Point, Virginia. This time-lapse footage shows the storm tide from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida as it raises water levels in the York River, a major tributary of Chesapeake Bay. Video runs from 1:05 pm EST on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 to 4:15 pm EST on Thursday, November 12, when the solar-powered battery that runs the camera gave out. Video compiled by Mr. Dave Weiss of CCRM. The white pole in the center left of the image is 1.5 meters (~4 feet) tall.
