  • House Jameson who played mob boss J. H. Phillips had been known to radio audiences as Henry Aldrich's father. It's odd there's no shots of Lauren Gilbert as Harry Lane, Mattie's brother-in-law, who framed his wife Cora for the murder of his secretary. Also Priscilla Gillette who played Sybil Gordon, hired by Phillips' man Ollie Barbour to implicate Mike Karr in a scandal is missing. Could be since Edge was performed live there are no extant kinescopes of those terrific performers. Great video!

  • GREG MAY of Orlando, FL says: "DON HASTINGS (Jack Lane) spoke the opening words on the very first episode of "The Edge of Night" on April 2, 1956. In 1960 he moved to "As The World Turns" as "Bob Hughes' - the love interest of the classic soap bitch 'Lisa' ."

  • Also, Stephen Elliott would have a long and distinguished career as a character actor, one of my favorite actors.

  • I recall that Mary Fickett would later play Ruth Brent Martin for many years on "All My Children."
