a film i made for my art coursework.
The idea for the film relates to the journey that everyone takes in growing up. It is about leaving childhood and reaching maturity.
The initial part of the film represents the childhood world we inhabit. The world of stories and peaceful rest. The transformation of the bird suggests the idea of freedom of imagination we have as children and limitless potential.
This, however, comes to an end. The growing vines and trees represent the growth of people and with growth comes the darker aspects of life personified in the character of the wolf which haunts our steps. The bird stops flying and plummets into the dark grasp of reality.
The ongoing chess battle suggests the battle between the light and dark pieces symbolising the struggle with adulthood. In the end the childhood, represented by the teddy, is brushed aside as the pressures of adult life take over.
thank you to everyone who helped make this possible, espcially mr brother, who i owe so much to, djelal for being amazingly talented and putting up with my crap, thanks mate and stuart for believing in me!
this is amazing. i've decided to do a film for my art coursework too. my topic is journeys and connections. I can barely wait to get started after watching yours!! thanks for putting this up! you're really talented.

You must took much of work into it!
I must say that I love the birds and what you did with them.
As I could see and as I remember from your movie which I saw before - you like masks very much.
You are better in making movies than in painting. I'm not really into movies but I think it's interesting what you've done :)
Good luck with other projects! :D
