Joseph Turow's new book with the University of Michigan Press, Playing Doctor: Television, Storytelling, and Medical Power, examines how medical professionals from doctors to nurses to coroners are portrayed in popular television shows, and the impact that has on patients' view of the medical profession in everyday life. This video, produced by the University of Pennsylvania in cooperation with the Press, features Turow's discussion of those depictions (with clips of the shows) and the book.
