my orthopedic dr is sending me to a specialist in boston. today after 16 months of constant pain (also treated TOS in my shoulder) he has suspicion that I have a TFCC tear. I can do anything. I can push myself out of bed with my hands (well my right hand at least) I can't turn it over, my wrist clicks and my joints are very unstable. I have 0 insurance as well this is going to be a fun adventure
I injured my right wrist in May 2009 (17 y.o at the time) due to improper gripping and repetitive motions during weight lifting. Over the past 2 years I have visited a variety of health care professionals including my family practitioner, physiotherapist, chiropractor, as well as a renowned sports medicine specialist. I have tried 2 seperate types of braces; neither of which made much of a difference in the clicking/weakness. I am hopeful that my wrist is finally beginning to regain strength.
I fell 4 mo ago. Just had MRI. Showed focal partial thickness tear of the central and peripheral triangular fibrocartilage. I'm hoping that becuz it's partial thickness I can get away with a brace n PT.
My favorite wrist brace is MODABBER. It's super comfortable.
Done TFCC tear in June last year. Kept the pain for 6 wks thinking i had just sprained it. When it didnt heal went to doc who sent me to hospital, who sent me for MRI. Not only TFCC done but also bone disintigration, cist on bone, ganglion cists on thumb side and cartalidge damage. All this is thaks to dancing with my 17 year old son.
Going for op in the morning and dreading rehab. Thanks for the heads up guys.
@crankyeplus I am on day 2 after our puppy ran and snapped her leash. lol. It stink, I felt "okay" other than pushing on a door before the doc, but he gave me a steroid (corizone?) injection and it hurts now. In a splint for 2 months.
Small TFCC Tears/Damage/Bruising, Along With Other Possible 27 Ligament Tears/Damage/Bruising, Can Cause Mid Carpal Instability (MCI)/Palmar Midcarpal Instability (PMCI).
