They're the Zuiikin gals of "Zuiikin English," a Japanese TV show where viewers learn how to speak English.

Not sure why they don't stick to the basics, like "Hello, how are you?" But apparently, "I have a bad case of diarrhea" is an important thing to know.

And I'm not sure what the "P-Low the Skillful Abbot" is at the top, the little graphic there. But it's all very strange.

"What Were They Thinking?"

And some poor tourist is going to come up to you on the street, by the way, and say, "I have a bad case of diarrhea." And you'll just laugh.

Anderson Cooper and Erica Hill find a few more creative ways the Japanese learn English.

  • hah! love this!

  • Skillful Abbot is the guy you should thank for popularizing the Zuiikin Gals outside Japan (the one that actually translated the video you reposted here).

  • Erica can shave all the hair off her head and still be beautiful with that smile.

  • what a 90's.

  • P-low the Skillful Abbot was the original poster of the videos. His page used to be SkillfulAbbot on Youtube before he got shut down for copyright infringement.

  • I'm Japanese and I learned English in this way.

  • japanese people are weird.

  • This is not a parody. Look up Zuiikin' English.

  • dude, i'm in Asia- i serioulsy don't think it's not a parody-

    that is too sophisticated of a concept for second language speakers to care to show;

    i'm pretty sure it's a catchy thing for tourist to know as they think the US is dangerous and compared to their country, it can be very..

  • These guys are the ultimate trolls. CNN smugly thinks they're making fun of wacky Asians, when in fact the whole thing's a parody to begin with.
