Derek Jeter hits his 3000th hit becoming the first Yankee to join the 3000 hit club and the second player ever to hit a home run as their 3000th hit. At Yankee Stadium, the Yankees played Tampa Bay on 7-9-11. Derek Jeter got his 3000th hit off of David Price (pitcher) for the Rays. One of Jeters best games, hitting
5 for 5!!! 20th man to reach 3000 hits and 4th youngest
