Twin 8mm MG42's on a Post-war West German AA twin mount. These guns are timed/tuned to fire at the same rate (1200rds per minute each). As you can see, even with the base pedistal installed, the guns' recoil are hard to control. If the guns are not timed at the same rate of fire the result would be that the faster guns' torque would push the guns off center to the left or right.
