Not at all historically accurate - just for fun! Susan Burns and her teacher Robbie Magnolia dance a modern waltz to "Chaconne from Dioclesian" by Baroque composer Henry Purcell at a costume dance party at Fred Astaire in Charlotte. (There was no such thing as a waltz during the Renaissance.)

  • este fragmento pertenece exactamente a Aria; Chaconne from "Dioclesian" . Aquí les dejo el enlace, lo podrán escuchar a partir del minuto 3.

  • Il waltzer nel Rinascimento (o Barocco, quello che sia)? Mio Dio...

  • waltz, but you know it was not danced like this in the Renn - since it didn't exist then. the Volta???? well, we don't have any videos from the period.......

  • Well, waltz (especially slow one) appeared much later then a period you could call "renaissance"... Volta dance is very little familliar to waltz (well, the fact of turning and maybe, position and holding hands are similar, but steps are completely different). I couldn't find any proper volta here... :(

  • Yes the music is a baroque piece, and while I find your waltz quite elegant, you should be dancing a chaconne to that music....n'est-ce pas?

  • What a charming waltz!
