This is the first veterinary visit for these puppy mill rescues. Most puppy mill dogs are frightened and confused, and they often shut down mentally when they are first rescued. These dogs will need quite a while to recover both physically and mentally from their previous lives. A gentle touch, quiet voices, patience, good food, and good veterinary care are crucial to sucessfully rehabilitating these dogs. A big thank you to Dr. Briles and his staff at Aldine Animal Hospital for their gentle, compassionate care during these first exams. • What happened to these babies? Are they available for adoption?

  • @Msmacrospirit - These dogs were taken in by Golden Beginnings Golden Retriever Rescue in Houston, Texas. Some are already up for adoption, but some are still recovering physically and mentally from their previous lives. The ones with the most mental and/or physical problems will be available for adoption as they heal and become socialized, and as their foster families decide they are ready for a more normal life. Watch our website (listed during the video) for them.

  • The beautiful, patient, noble creature. God bless you for the work you are doing with these animals who cannot speak for themselves.

  • I wish I never stumble across this. I truly believe that there is an extra special viscous eternal torment in the hell of hells for anyone who would turn any golden retriever into a cowering, beat up, & broken wreck, like these dogs are.

  • This is sooo painful to watch when I know what awesome and loving these dogs can be. But, good job to this rescue!

  • it is so sad, they just look like they are not there. oh, but to show them that humans are not all bad, there are those of us who will love them.
