I have a D90, so I guess the shutter release cable will not work since it uses the same connection port as the Promote unit? is this correct?

i do 30 exposure+ hdrs quite often without this remote, i aint a big deal, but this does look like a nice bit of kit, which will save my shutter speed dial from wearing out.
