June 16, 2011. On Safari in Africa, near Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, my husband and I heard about this place where we could walk with and interact with real-live LIONS. How could we not do it? This guy I'm petting in the video (his name was "Cheesa") was only about 18 months old - but he was BIG and was starting to grow a mane and I had no doubt that at any moment he could get a little too interested in me and decide I would make a great appetizer. The lion-handlers told me to talk to him. All I could do was tell him how beautiful he was, so he might decide to let me live another day. It was an awesome experience!

  • Hi marioclub. It's a lion, for sure. A young one. Young lions have baby spots, which will disappear within the next year. At least, that's what the lion handlers told me. Thanks for asking.
