  • something that we cant figure out yet is what is happening with the white paint now that GM Janesville is close i work at a GM dealer and lots of white trucks are coming back with rust freckles on the paint , truck owners are very upset about it but dont know what the problem is find a GM truck 2008 or newer and see the tailgate or hood look for a very small rust spots and tell me what do u think

  • @Frussel1 the paint job wasnt done right that unit will be send back , after the oven it has to pass a very close inspection , and if the unit has something bad is fixed right there or the panel (fenders hood doors) are replaced for other ones and then are send back to paint same if the bad is in the body it goes back to paint , after it goes down to the assembly line if something happend to the paint it go to the body shop after is complete assembled and they fix it just like in a regular shop

  • @Frussel1 well they look clean but they are not , dont worry about painting the unit or the windows paint get everywhere , do u know how many units paint in a 10 hours shift? even if cleaning crew clean the windows every night by the 9am that the first sleeve change come (for the robots) all the walls and and windows are a mess , and that is why the robots sleeve are changed 2 times daily and the entire booth is washed with the 50k pressure washer every friday , and after all even if cont..

  • Normally if you are painting the windows instead of the unit your booth balance is crappy or behr operators are to lazy to clean the windows. How was the quality of the units in the booths @ Janesville evaluate if the booth windows were dirty - in the vestibule? The windows in the video looks clean to me....;)

  • @Frussel1 guys dont fight over something that you may dont know i use to work at GM janesville where the suburban and tahoe was made , i was at paint dept and that orange peel that you see are the dirty windows at the paint booth , the camera man wasnt inside , usualy windows get so much paint over time specialy at the clearcoat booth that actually is the same just a about 300 feet ahead it is actually a tunel

  • I know about Paint ....The base look like that because it is waterbourne paint. The unit has to go through a flash process with IR heaters to drive off the water in the paint. After the water has been flashed off - the appearance will look dry or like orange peel....The next stage in the process in the booth is clearcoated.

  • do you know much on paint ??? the base coat is messed up no amount of clear will fix a bad base .and the wet look wont fix this it still looks bad .

  • It only has basecoat on it at 2:01 the next step the car will get sprayed with clearcoat.. Clearcoat give the paint a wet look to the overall paint job.

  • all that computer junk and if you look you can see a orange peel effect in the paint at 2:01 wow , new paint that looks like crap .
