  • What's sad is that come taste the band is a great album under a name of a band with different musical direction ,and was not followed on by glen with a possible replacement for Tommy,as they wished.period.

  • Among musicians, that's not uncommon that they mention a band as "mine" which they play/played in. They don't mean that they own that band or something. DP Mark IV in this sense was Glenn’s band. I think that period is much important for him.

I don't understand what's the problem with that.

  • I'm surprised he referred to Deep Purple as "my band." I love Glenn Hughes, but WTF?? Without Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord, Deep Purple would never have existed. In fact, IMHO, when Glenn and David Coverdale joined DP, it changed the dynamic of the band and was one of the main reasons Ritchie left.

  • Glenn's looking great these days (really turned his life around after years of drug and alcohol abuse). Still has a great voice. I've not really heard much of his solo stuff yet outside of Purple but i have heard some of Trapeze which was good. Cheers for posting.

  • I saw himseveral times in Hamburg/germany- an Ikone, a voice god

an sympathetic man, musician, great performencer...and whatever...

great to hear him something about the beatles/paul mc, cartney....he s my friend.....god bless you Glenn, you came out of the shit....you've done....

  • Glen hughes has always been English. The only yanks in Deep Purple were Tommy Bolin, Joe Lynn Turner and Joe Satriani but none of them lasted for more than one album.

  • Liverpool was a great gig. Tommy Bolin was the cream

  • He isin't new to funk...his first album Play Me Out was funk

  • "my band DEEP PURPLE?" I get the gist Glenn, but be for real.

  • Trapeze started it all
