Denali National Park, Alaska - June 2010. A cow moose protects her calf from a wolf, until he howls in the rest of the pack. The battle ensues in a small pond just yards from our tour bus. The pack does not get serious until the 'Alpha' male shows up.

  • Amazing video! Absolutely nothing "cruel" about it, just some beautiful animals trying to stay alive.

  • @gadsbee22 So you don't like seeing reality? You think Nature should be "cleaned up" to look like a nice Disney movie so it doesn't upset you?

  • @lawnsausages what are you thinking telling a father that he has "bad parenting". The killing of this moose is a NATURAL way of life. This is how God planned life. The child will see it in school at some point anyway. maybe not with a wolf and moose but a lion and zebra. Next if the child is making noises that can do one of two things. 1) cause the animals to run or 2) cause the wolves to attack them. Lastly if it was you and you had this opportunity, would you just run or tape it like this man?

  • Stop telling your kid to be quiet, you're talking up a shit storm...otherwise, incredible vid.

  • @youngpuck The wolves don't decimate their food supply. I'm not for sport hunting so you can't really say anything that will change my mind because you can't kill as many moose because of the wolves. Personally I don't think it is okay to kill any animal that isn't doing any harm. I also think it should be the former predator-prey relationship that had happened for millions of years and that was what regulated the population not people.

  • @GriffinGillespie1 theres enough wolves here in nothern Quebec and they never been killed like in the West...Anyway theres way too much Wolves around here they eat all the food.20 years ago people used to hunt them for their fur but it dosent worth nothing anymore.Of course im gonna kill one every time i see one on my territory...Every hunter want to kill a moose and every wolves want to kill a moose so who should i kill...lol

  • What were you thinking letting a child watch this? You were making twice the noise shushing the child than if you'd just taken a second and answered the questions. I'm sure what he was witnessing was very disturbing and all you could think to do was shut him up. Great parenting, genius.

  • @TheKfc14 The wolf had nothing to do with the population drop. Yellowstone elk population was 4,000 before the wolf reintroduction because of the climate. Their was a drought and more brutal winters. When there was more rain and more mild winters the elk went to 20,000. The elk did fine 10 years after the reintroduction of wolves. In 2004 the elk population suddenly dropped because of the drought. This provided less food for the elk. The winters are more brutal again too.

  • @GriffinGillespie1 i agree with griffin.

  • @youngpuck WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? THE WOLF WASN'T DOING ANYONE ANY HARM. IT IN NO WAY DESERVED TO GET RUN OVER BY YOU TRUCK. ARE YOU A PSYCHOPATH? HOW IN ANY WAY IS IT OKAY TO KILL A WOLF? IT ISN'T AN EXCUSE TO DO IT JUST BECAUSE YOU DISLIKE WOLVES. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU LIKE THEM OR NOW WOLVES ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THE ECOSYSTEM. IT ISN'T FUNNY TO KILL AN ANIMAL. IN FACT, KILLING AN ANIMAL IS A RESPONSIBILITY. ALL YOU DID WAS CAUSE THE WOLF PAIN BY RUNNING OVER IT'S TAIL.

  • 08:56 did anyone noticed that one of the wolf has got belt on the neck ???
