This is an excerpt from 'the search for cosmic justice'. basically it explains what we have always known, that the left cherry pick certain stats from data sets and why anything that doesn't fit the prevailing 'vision' they have gets left out or ignored.

  • "Cherry Pick"? That would be the understatement of the year LOL. The left never let facts get in the way of a good story!

  • For the first time ever, unprecedented, the 2010 Census is going to be run and manipulated and skewed in the White House.

Some of this stat stuff may seem dry, but this is the first step to tyranny. Orwell knew that and he made a big point of it in 1984.

  • @EGarrett01 in the early part of the 20th century the black family had higher rates of marriage than whites. children were not born out of wedlock anywhere near as much as after the introduction of the war on poverty that was being fought by president Johnson. you can almost trace every negative indicator with regard to black people in america to the introduction of some kind of social program that was supposed to help them.

Also, African-Americans today tend to excel at physical tasks and do poorly in school. It's an expected result of gene frequencies changed by centuries of forced manual labor and banned education (but that's not the ONLY probable cause). It's also why Ashkenazi Jews have a high frequency of academic achievement, social conditions centuries ago warping gene frequencies. To attribute it, overtly or by implication, to race itself is an idiotic and HIGHLY dangerous category error.

The disintegration of black families was not present in the times of slavery? I know you didn't seriously mean to suggest that. Regarding the disintegration of black families being soley a result of slavery, I don't remember suggesting that that's the case. When I'm talking about slavery and Jim Crow though, it's obvious that they still matter. Many of the black population centers today are STILL in the areas that imported the most slaves, namely the South..(continued)

  • @EGarrett01

And how do you know that it did? Most of the problems that are now blamed on slavery were not present 40 years ago or even in the times of slavery. Like the disintegration of black families etc.

Sowell provides proof that things that are contributed to miss-treatment, happened to minorities which did not go through such harassment. So if A can happen without B, then why do you assume that B caused A?

  • I don't agree all the way with Sowell here. It seems obvious that slavery and Jim Crow have had a major effect on conditions today. The question is, what do you do about it. Trying to force hiring quotas and manipulate the market obviously has screwy results. I think you have to naturally let people intermix and be punished for their incorrect biases by the market. Removing crap like licensing and minimum wage would help the bad employment and bad education conditions in the inner-city also.
