This acoustic version of the song "Watch You Sleep" by Any of Both was recorded almost exclusively with AEA ribbon microphones during a session at Maarweg Studio 2 in Cologne, Germany on May 30, 2011. Additional tracks were cut with high quality condenser microphones in parallel, so that they can be compared with the ribbons. All the individual tracks of the song as well as alternative condenser microphone tracks are available as a download at
www.ribbonmics.com/aea/listeningroom.html
The session was engineered by German producer/engineer Wolfgang Stach who is known for his work with BAP, Guano Apes, Such A Surge, Jupiter Jones, and many other German artists.
The mix was done by Julian David on a SSL 6048 G+/E series console with automation at Hemispheres Recording in Los Angeles utilizing the studio's collection of high-end outboard gear. Alex Kloss was responsible for the mastering at Time Tools in Hannover, Germany. Detailed documentation is also provided in the zip-archive with the individual tracks for download.
